INGREDIENTS
FABRIC A
- (4) 3” squares
- (12) 2½” squares
FABRIC B
- (4) 3” squares
- (4) 2½” squares
FABRIC C
- (4) 3½” x 4½” rectangles
FABRIC D
- (4) 1½” squares
- (4) 4½” x 1½” rectangles
FABRIC E
- (1) 4½” square
STEP 1. MAKE HALF SQUARE TRIANGLES
Mark a diagonal pencil line on the wrong side of each Fabric A 3” square. Place right sides together with Fabric B 3” squares . Sew ¼” away from each side of the marked line. Cut apart on the line and press. Trim to 2½” square.
STEP 2. MAKE EASY CORNER TRIANGLES + LEAF UNITS
To make Easy Corner Triangles (ECTs) - Mark a pencil line on the diagonal of EACH Fabric D 1½” square. Match up to one corner of Fabric B 2½” square as shown. Sew on the pencil line. Trim 1/4” away from the line and press.
Join with HST units from Step 1 to make Leaf Units as shown.
STEP 3. MAKE PETALS
Repeat the process to make ECTs using Fabric C rectangles and Fabric A 2½” squares as shown. Join petal units with Fabric D rectangles. Repeat to make 4 petal units.
STEP 4. ASSEMBLE BLOCK
Join block units as shown. Trim if needed to 12½” square unfinished size.
