From Fabrics 1 and 2, cut:
{A} (2) 2½”  squares

From Fabrics 3 and 4, cut:
{C} (4) 1½” X 2½” rectangles

From Fabrics 5 and 6, cut:
{D} (2) 1½” squares

From background fabric, cut:
{B} (16) 1½ squares

12” BLOCK
From Fabrics 1 and 2, cut:
{A} (2) 4½” squares

From Fabrics 3 and 4, cut:
{C} (4) 2½” X 4½” rectangles

From Fabrics 5 and 6, cut:
{D} (2) 2½” squares

From background fabric, cut:
{B} (16) 2½ squares

STEP 1. MAKE CORNER UNITS

Draw one diagonal line on each backgrounds square:  16 – 2½ squares (16 – 1½” squares). Use the Easy Corner Triangle (ECT) method: place a background square on one corner of Fabric 1 square, paying attention to the direction shown. Sew on the marked line. Repeat on opposite corner. Make 2.

Repeat with Fabric 2 on the opposite corners of Fabric 1 squares. Make 2.

STEP 2. MAKE PETALS

Use the ECT method described above to make petals using Fabrics 3 and 4 rectangles. Pay attention to direction of background square for each petal.

Join petals together in pairs as shown.

STEP 3. MAKE CENTER

Join fabric 5 and 6 squares together to create a 4-patch unit for the flower center.

STEP 4. ASSEMBLE BLOCK

Lay out block components as shown. Join together. Press well.
